The 5-Minute Lash and Brow Care Routine for Busy Women

A consistent lash and brow care routine boasts many benefits: mainly, stronger, more beautiful lashes and brows. And a routine doesn’t have to take a surplus of time. Try these simple beauty tips for working women. This step-by-step routine will help protect your lashes and brows from everyday damage while improving the way they look.

Step 1: Cleanse (1 Minute)

Why it’s important: You probably wouldn’t skip washing your face in the morning, right? Well, your lashes and brows are just as important to cleanse as your skin. Removing leftover makeup, dirt, and oil from your lashes and brows will prime them for the rest of your routine – and for better results.

How to do it: Saturate a cotton pad with a gentle, oil-free makeup remover or micellar water. Press the pad on your closed eyelid for a few seconds to help loosen makeup. Gently wipe the eye area clean, removing any dirt and makeup residue on your lashes, brows, and eyelids.

Pro tip: Check your cleanser’s ingredients. Oil-based makeup removers and cleansers can leave behind a film which may create a barrier between your lashes and brows and your serums. Choose an oil-free product, such as our Micellar Water Lash Wash. This micellar water based formula removes makeup, dirt, and oil while leaving lashes, brows, and skin soothed and hydrated. (Plus, if you’re not sure how to maintain lash extensions – good news. This hydrating lash product is safe to use as your go-to lash extensions aftercare to keep them fresh and clean!)

Step 2: Condition (1 Minute + Drying Time)

Why it’s important: Lash and brow serums, also called conditioners, are the heroes of your routine. They help make your lashes and brows stronger, softer, and more beautiful. These formulas enhance your natural lash and brow appearance for a head-turning look – with or without makeup products. Plus, they protect your lashes and brows from everyday damage.

How to do it: After prepping your lashes and brows with an oil-free cleanser, allow them to dry completely. Apply one thin line of RevitaLash® Advanced directly to clean, dry upper eyelashes only, above the lash line. (You only need to dip the applicator brush into the bottle one time for both eyes.) Next, apply your brow serum. apply several short strokes of RevitaBrow® Advanced to clean, dry eyebrow hair, using its specially designed eyebrow applicator. Allow both serums to dry before moving on to the next step. Drying can take a few minutes, so use this time to tackle another part of your morning routine, like choosing an outfit or accessories, or answering a few emails.

Pro tip: The best lash and brow serums are physician developed, third-party safety tested, and reviewed by independent ophthalmologists and board-certified dermatologists. Our RevitaLash® Advanced and RevitaBrow® Advanced formulas check all these boxes.

Plus, they deliver real results: 94 percent saw improved lash appearance* and 94 percent saw revitalized, more beautiful natural brows.† We even offer a lash care option for sensitive eyes. Our RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive formula gives great results with minimal irritation.

Step 3: Define Your Brows (2 Minutes)

Why it’s important: Your brows frame your face, giving structure to your look. Defining your brows helps you appear more polished and expressive. Once you learn how to groom your brows at home, it only takes a couple minutes to help them look their best.

How to do it: Start by filling in your brows with brow pencil to create a defined shape and camouflage sparse areas. Using a pencil with a fine tip, quickly draw short, natural, hair-like strokes. Finish by brushing through your brows to distribute the color. (With its built-in spoolie brush, our Hi-Def Brow Pencil is the perfect product for quick brow shaping.) To tame any unruly brow hairs and set your look, try a clear or tinted brow gel. Using short, upward strokes, apply the brow gel to your eyebrows, moving from the inner to outer corners to sculpt, define, and set.

Pro tip: Here’s one of our favorite brow care tips. Pick a brow gel and eyebrow pencil with conditioning ingredients. These will soften and strengthen your eyebrows while you wear them. Think of it as multitasking with your makeup routine! Our Hi-Def Brow Gel contains peptides and oat beta glucan to help fortify, condition, and enhance the look of brows. And our Hi-Def Brow Pencil features vitamin E to provide conditioning benefits to skin.

Step 4: Maximize Your Lashes (1 Minute)

Why it’s important: Lifted and defined lashes open your eyes, giving you a more youthful and wide-awake appearance. Makeup can also maximize the look of your lash serum results by making lashes appear even more dramatic.

How to do it: Begin by curling your lashes with an eyelash curler. With the curler in open position, place your lashes between the silicone pad and the curler, getting close to the base of the lashes. Gently squeeze the handles of the curler together, clamping down on lashes, and hold in place. Finally, release the curler and pull away from lashes, leaving the perfect curl. After curling your lashes, apply mascara. For fuller and more dramatic lashes, choose a volumizing mascara. Try our Double-Ended Volume Set, which includes a volumizing lash primer. For a more natural look with extra length, try a lengthening or tubing mascara. Our Length Define formula is a great choice.

Pro tip: You can take care of your lashes while wearing mascara every day. Just choose a formula with conditioning ingredients. These ingredients can help prevent lash breakage during busy days. Both of our mascara formulas feature peptides, panthenol, and biotin to strengthen and nourish lashes with every swipe.

Bonus Step: Twice-a-Week Treatment (15 Minutes) On days when you have a bit more time, treat your lashes and brows to an ultra-reparative treatment. Our Lash & Brow Masque infuses compromised hair with damage-repairing ingredients in just 15 minutes. In a consumer study, 80 percent said their lashes and brows felt more hydrated in just one use.‡

Try these tips for healthy lashes and brows that make the most of the time you’ve got:

  1. Split up your routine. If five minutes feels like too long for your morning lash and brow routine, use your serums at night instead. The time of day you apply doesn’t matter, as long as you’re using them once a day.
  2. Choose products that multitask. Look for lash and brow cosmetics that boast multiple benefits, such as defining and conditioning.
  3. Consider professional lash and brow services. You can save time in your daily routine with services like lash lifts or brow tinting. These services give you results that can last for weeks. Be sure to stick to your daily lash and brow conditioning regimen, as some of these services can cause damage to lashes and brows.

The Verdict: You Do Have Time for Beautiful Lashes and Brows This routine proves that even the busiest professionals can prioritize self-care. Consistency is key – stick to this regimen, and you'll notice healthier, more beautiful lashes and brows in no time. After all, your lashes and brows frame your face, and giving them a little TLC can make all the difference in your confidence and style.
